A unique retreat that will help you make positive changes!
Set in the beautiful Cognac region of France, PraanaWellness retreat centre is the ideal place to unwind and recharge. We will explore how Yoga and Ayurveda can help us with stress and maintain health. Daily Yoga practice, meditation, workshops and talks will increase your sense of well-being. There will be ample time to relax, take walks among the local vineyards and countryside, use the pool and enjoy healthy organic vegetarian food!
Your stay will comprise:
- 5 nights/ 6 days at the welcoming centre of Praanawellness.
- daily yoga morning practice, afternoon workshop/talk on Ayurvedic or Yogic topics, evening Yoga nidra (guided relaxation) or meditation – with Marianne
- morning tea and fruits before Yoga practice
- 2 healthy vegetarian buffets, mostly organic at lunch and dinner
- shared accomodation (different options)
- one afternoon visit to a local Cognac distillery
What is NOT included:
- air or train fare to the center (see detailed form about how to get there)
- shared taxi from/to airport or station to/from the retreat
- Marianne will be offering massage and ayurvedic consultations at an extra charge during the retreat (£70), to be booked in advance due to the limited time availibility
About Marianne Simonin
Your Teacher for the retreat
I am a qualified BWY teacher, massage therapist and artist. I have been teaching Yoga and meditation for more than 25 years. I follow the path of Shakti sadhana in the lineage of the Das MahaVidiyas and Kali Kaula.
My teaching stems from my profound personal practice in the subject, as well as my many stays in India, especially in the North-East of India such as West Bengal and Assam. I believe that Yoga is a unique and individual journey, and requires a lifetime engagement. My Yoga classes are creative and empowering, encouraging the students to develop a state of deeper meditative awareness. I have an interest in the therapeutic aspects of Yoga, and I have worked with many students over the years suffering from stressed related conditions, depression and anxiety.
The use of asanas and pranayama form the core of the practice, including bandhas and mudras. I also teach separately Yoga Nidra, meditation, and Ayurvedic principles. Read More
Sunday 25th June
2 – 4pm Arrival
5 – 6.30pm Introduction + Gentle Yoga
6.30 – 8.30pm Dinner
9 – 9.30pm Yoga nidra (guided relaxation)
Monday to Thursday
7 – 8am Tea and fruits
8 – 10am Yoga, Pranayama, meditation
10 – 12noon Vegetarian buffet lunch
2 – 5pm Free time – walks, pool etc. Body treatments with Marianne (if booked and paid in advance). On Wednesday afternoon visit to the local distillery
5.30 – 6.30pm Talk or workshop on building a balanced lifestyle with Ayurveda and Yoga, to combat stress related symptoms and conditions (i.e insomnia, anxiety etc)
6.30 – 8pm Vegetarian buffet dinner
8.30 – 9.30pm Yoga nidra (guided relaxation)
Friday 30th June
7 – 8am Tea and fruits
8 – 10am Yoga, Pranayama, closing circle meditation
10 -11.30am Vegetarian brunch
12 noon Departure
Eating at Praanawellness
PraanaWellness Retreats and B&B has a year round vegetable garden providing organic seasonal produce, which are nourishing, healthy and often based on Ayurvedic principles. Special dietary requirements such as vegan, gluten free and lactose intolerant can be catered for if requested at the time of booking.
Ensuite 1 –king size bed (for couple) with full bathroom and shower/wc (1st floor overlooking vineyards)
Ensuite 2 – twin bedded room with double shower room/wc (1st floor overlooking vineyards)
Ensuite 3 –twin bedded room with single shower room/wc (1st floor overlooking vineyards)
Dormitory – 4 full size single beds with double shower room/wc. Limited view, limited head room in parts of the room
Safari Tent – this luxury tent is placed away from the house offering privacy and closeness to nature. With a King size double bed and sitting room, lovely verandah and sunset views overlooking the valley behind. The shower and WC are within short distance from the tent available at the pool house er night with full breakfast served at the main house.
All linen and towels are provided. Yoga mats, blocks, blankets and props also provided. It is recommended that you bring a shawl for meditation and writing materials to take notes during the workshops.
